Treutlen Wins Over Tigers

It was a tough week for the Vikings basketball team of Treutlen County High School as they dropped five of the six games that they played. The Lady Vikings lost all three of their games while the boys dropped two of three. The only win was a win over a good Swainsboro team on Saturday at home.

Vs. Wilcox

On Tuesday the Vikings hosted Wilcox County’s Patriots. In the girls game the Lady Patriots took the win 52-40. In the boys game the Vikings gave the Patriots a good run as they fell by just two points. Wilcox pulled out the win, 56-54, over Treutlen.

Vs. Johnson

On Friday Treutlen traveled to Wrightsville to face off with the Trojans of Johnson County. The Lady Vikings almost came away with their fifth win of the season, but fell just short. The Lady Trojans took the close win, 53-51, over Treutlen. In the boys game it was another close loss for the Vikings as they fell to the Trojans. Johnson pulled out the win, 73-71, over the Vikings.

Vs. Swainsboro

The Lady Tigers were in complete control of this game as they ran away from the Lady Vikings. Swainsboro rolled to a 69– 12 win over Treutlen. It was another close game for the Treutlen boys as they took on Swainsboro, but this time they came out on top. Treutlen won the game over the Tigers by the score of 57-56.

The Lady Vikings are now 4-12 on the year and they are 2-10 in Region play. The boys are 8-10 overall and in the Region they are 6-7.

This week the girls were at Dooly County on Monday and on Tuesday both teams hosted Telfair County after presstime. On Thursday the Lady Vikings will be at Wilcox County at 6:00 p.m., on Friday both teams will host Jenkins County beginning at 6:00 p.m., and then on Saturday the Irish of Dublin will be in town for two games starting at 6:00 p.m.
