Boys vs. Dooly

In the boys game Dooly pulled out the close win over the Eagles. MCHS lost the game 52-46.

Girls vs. Treutlen

It was another easy win for MCHS as they faced the Lady Vikings on Saturday. MCHS jumped out to a big lead and were on top 31-4 at the end of the first quarter. They increased their lead in the second and led 49-15 at halftime. The Lady Eagles got all of their players in during the second half of the game. MCHS led 59-20 heading to the fourth, and the Lady Eagles won the game 66-22. Marley Bell led the way with 21 points, Amire Banks added 16 points, and Makyla Bell posted 14 in the win.

Boys vs. Treutlen

Early baskets by Xavier Brantley and Taliek Jackson gave MCHS a 7-2 lead, and Samari Madison made it 9-4. It was 11-6 with 3:25 left in the first quarter, and Quantez Lewis added a basket for MCHS to make it 14-8. By the end of the first the score was 14-10 with the Eagles out in front.

Javarius Kelly dropped a couple of shots for the Eagles to make it 19-15 with 5:15 left in the half. He added another shot in the paint for a 21-15 lead. But the Vikings came storming back to tie the game at 21-21 and then they took the lead 23-21 over the Eagles. A shot by Lewis tied the game back at 23-23 with just 20 seconds to play in the half.

Treutlen got a nice move to take the lead back, and at the end of the first half the Vikings were on top 25-23 over MCHS.

In the second half of the game, though, the Eagles came out and took the lead back. They held on to get the win over the Vikings 64-57.

The Lady Eagles are now 17-2 on the year and are 11-1 in the Region, while the boys are 5-11 overall and 4-8 in the Region.

This week MCHS hosted Johnson County on Tuesday after presstime. They will be back in action on Saturday at Wheeler County at 6:00 p.m.
