Busy Week For Vikings

It was a busy week for Treutlen County High School as the girls played four games and the boys played three games. They both played Hawkinsville, Wheeler County, and Montgomery County, and the girls added an extra game against Montgomery. vs. Hawkinsville

The Lady Vikings fell in their game against the Lady Red Devils by the score of 50-20. The boys had better luck as they pulled out a 62-51 win over Hawkinsville.

Girls vs. MCHS

It was a tough game for the Lady Vikings as they fell behind 22-3 in the first and were down 33-6 at halftime to the #1 team in the state. MCHS went on to win the game 64- 21.

vs. Wheeler

The Lady Vikings dropped their game to the Lady Bulldogs 52-45 in a close matchup. The boys game went to overtime to be decided. Treutlen was on top 25-20 at the end of the first quarter, but Wheeler closed that lead to 40-37 at halftime. In the third Treutlen pushed the lead back out to 63-58, but Wheeler came back in the fourth to tie the game at 74-74 to force overtime. In overtime Treutlen pulled out the win, 84-82 over the Bulldogs.

Girls vs. MCHS In the girls game the Lady Eagles ran out to a 31-4 lead in the first quarter and pulled away to a 66-22 win over the Lady Vikings.

Boys vs. MCHS

The boys game was close in the first half. MCHS led 7-2 early and were on top 11-6 with 3:25 left in the first quarter. At the end of the first MCHS was on top 1410. MCHS led 21-15 in the second, but Treutlen came back to tie the game at 21-21, and then took a 25-23 lead over the Eagles into halftime.

In the second half the Eagles came back to take the lead, and MCHS went on to win the game 64-57 over Treutlen. This week the Lady Vikings were at Dublin on Monday and then hosted Wilcox County on Tuesday after presstime. They will be at Johnson County on Friday at 6:00 p.m. and at home on Saturday against Swainsboro at 6:00 p.m.
