The Indians will now host the state prelims on Friday afternoon at the H. Ralph Parsons Gymnasium, beginning at 3:30. “It’s huge that we get to host the next round,” said Blount. “It not only saves us from having to be on the road and the expenses that are involved, but it also means the kids can sleep in their own beds. Plus you always like to compete in front of your home fans.”
The Indians will match up with Callaway in the first round on Friday and, with a win, will face the winner of Banks County and Columbia. The losers of the first-round matches will have a chance to wrestle into contention for the title, with the winner of Friday’s event advancing to the Elite 8 on January 22.
Tickets for Friday’s event will be $12 and may be purchased in advance through GoFan or may be bought at the gate with a debit or credit card. Only GHSA Passes will be accepted. Booster Passes will not be honored.
