Southern States Athletic Conference action resumed for the Brewton-Parker Men's Basketball program as they faced Dalton State (Ga.) at Gillis Gym in Mount Vernon.

The Barons (1-16, 0-5) led for a majority of the first half over the Roadrunners (8-6, 3-2) but were outlasted in the second half, falling 67-52 for the afternoon. Dalton State jumped out with an early bucket to lead the game. The Barons responded with threestraight scoring trips on an 8-0 run to lead by six points. Both teams traded scoring chances with the Roadrunners gaining momentum with just over 13 minutes left to play. DSC eventually leveled the game at 12-12 at the 12:24 mark but BPC answered right back to regain control of the score. The Roadrunners scored three points on two trips to lead by two, but Brewton- Parker answered to level the score yet again.

After a big three-pointer, the Barons took the lead with just under 10 minutes remaining in the half. A quick score from Dalton State brought the deficit to just one but Brewton-Parker score five points, moving the lead back to six.

With the clock slowly ticking away, both teams went back-and-forth until DSC picked up a rhythm to close out the half, outscoring BPC 11-2 in the final couple minutes. The Roadrunners led the Barons 3228 at the break.

The Barons opened the second half with a 6-2 run in the first three minutes to level the game at 34-34. The Roadrunners answered with six points from the free-throw line to lead by six points with 14:29 left on the clock. Over the next few minutes, Dalton State outscored 13-8 to lead by 53-42. Unfortunately, the Barons could not get closer than an eight-point deficit after a three-point play with 6:00 minutes left. In the final six minutes of play, Dalton State outscored Brewton-Parker 12-7 to hold on and secure the win. The Roadrunners closed out the afternoon with a 67-52 lead. A duo of Barons scored double-digit figures for the afternoon with Floyd Davis and Bryce Wilson leading the way. Davis notched a game-high 16 points with Wilson scoring 10. TJ Taylor and Chance Hatcher both gathered six points as well. Vaquarious Brown and Wilson both gathered seven rebounds each to lead the team with Davis snagging a second-best six.

As a team, Brewton-Parker shot for just 37.7% (20-of-53) from the field, 23.5% (4-of-17) from three, and 36.4% (8-of-22) from the charity stripe.

Both teams gave up 16 turnovers apiece as well as tied with 10 steals each. Dalton State led off the glass, outrebounding BPC 37-31.
