The Downtown Vidalia Association was busy during this season of giving, as it presented four businesses with interior and exterior improvement grants. The funds will help reimburse these retailers for recent upgrades to their properties. Arlene’s Fine Jewelry, General Store 30474, Scott Properties, and Accessorize It! were all presented with $1,500 grants to help with the recent cost of improvements. Arlene’s Fine Jewelry and Accessorize It! used the grant for interior transformations of their stores. General Store 30474 used the funds to purchase the business’s exterior sign and the owner of Scott Properties added the grant to other financing for exterior and interior improvements to various sites, such as the building occupied by Rural Roots Beauty Bar.

“It is a wonderful thing to be able to support both new and longtime local businesses,” Downtown Vidalia Association Director Tonya Parker commented on the grants. “Our downtown area is continuing to grow and thrive, and it excites me so much for our future.”

When asked if she had anything to share with local downtown businesses, Parker spoke on the help available for Vidalia’s growing stores and restaurants. “There are opportunities for these grants, please do not hesitate to apply,” she encouraged. “The Downtown Vidalia Association is here as a resource to help these businesses, and it brings us joy to be able to contribute to the thriving environment of Downtown Vidalia.”
