Eagles Drop 2 To Devils

The Lady Eagles softball of Montgomery County High School took on Hawkinsville on Monday, Treutlen on Tuesday, and then Hawkinsville again on Thursday.

Vs. Hawkinsville

The Red Devils scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning to take the early lead. They added two more runs in the second inning and then broke the game open in the third with six more runs. Hawkinsville held on to get the win, 10- 0.

Vs. Treutlen

The game was close throughout until the top of the sixth inning when the Lady Eagles of Montgomery broke it open. MCHS led 2-1 after the first inning, and then MCHS put another run on the board in the top of the third inning.

Montgomery added two more in the fifth, but the Vikings answered with a run in the bottom of the frame to close the lead to 5-2. But in the top of the sixth inning the Eagles went on a run as they scored 11 runs to jump out to a 16-2 lead.

MCHS held in the bottom of the inning to take the game by that score. MCHS was led by Makayla Bell and Jenny Hudson with 3 RBI’s each.

Vs. Hawkinsville

Hawkinsville took the lead in the top of the first inning with two runs. They added a run in the third to push the lead to 3-0 over MCHS. In the fifth inning the Red Devils scored three more runs to take a 6-0 lead. The Eagles got on the board in the bottom of the fifth with one run, and they added another in the sixth inning to close the lead to 6-2. Hawkinsville got one more in the seventh to take the win over MCHS 7- 2.
