Southeastern Technical College Presents Greater Vidalia® Employment Fair 2021

From Pandemic to Prosperity Bridging Talent with Opportunity

Governor Brian P. Kemp and Georgia Department of Labor Commissioner Mark Butler recently announced Georgia’s plan for reemployment and economic recovery. To address workforce shortages and boost a full economic recovery, state labor officials plan to end Georgia’s participation in federal pandemic unemployment programs, effective Saturday, June 26, 2021.

Georgia will no longer participate in the following federal programs:

• Federal Pandemic

Unemployment Compensation (FPUC)

• Pandemic Unem ployment Assistance (PUA)

• Pandemic Emergen cy Unemployment Compensation (PEUC) • Mixed Earner Unem ployment Compensation (MEUC) Once Georgia opts out of the federal programs, the Department of Labor (GDOL) will continue offering regular state unemployment insurance benefits to eligible Georgians. The maximum weekly benefit in the state is $365.

Take this opportunity to visit with motivated job seekers and graduates eager to discuss employment opportunities and career possibilities.

The Employment Fair will be hosted at Southeastern Technical College, Vidalia Campus, on June 23, from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Please visit the link below to register. The deadline to register is June 14. We will have a hospitality room available for those that attend. Booths can be set up as early as 8:00 a.m. the morning of the event. This past year has been unprecedented in just about every way possible. We realize there are new challenges in connecting with the local workforce. Please be creative! Make your booth stand out!! Cool handouts, drawings, etc. If you need electricity, please indicate so on the registration form. If you would like to have the ability to interview on site, we can have rooms available for you.
