The Vikings baseball team of Treutlen County High School lost in the first round of the GHSA State A Playoffs to Seminole County last week. The Vikings ended their season with a record of 13- 16.

Game 1

Four errors cost the Vikings in the first game of the best-of-three series. Seminole picked up a run in the bottom of the first inning and then added a second in the second to take a 2-0 lead. They scored two more runs in the fourth inning to push their lead to 4-0.

The Vikings struggled at the plate as well, as they were not able to get any runs across the plate, falling in the game 4-0.

Game 2

In the second game it was five more errors that again cost the Vikings. In this game Seminole scored two in the top of the second inning to take the early lead. They added one more in the third and then two in the fourth to go ahead, 5-0. The Vikings finally got a run in the bottom of the fourth inning on an RBI hit by Kolby McLendon, but that was all they could manage in the game. Ben Foskey led the Vikings with two hits in the game.

Seminole picked up one more run in the sixth inning as they took the win, 6-1. That win moved them on to the second round and ended the Vikings' season.
