Bulldogs Fall In 2nd Round

The Toombs County High School soccer seasons came to an end last week as they were on the road at the War Eagles of Putnam County in the second round of the GHSA State AA Playoffs. Both the boys and girls fell in their games with the girls finishing with a record of 12-8 and the boys with a record of 137.

Girls The girls contest was a close one. Putnam scored a goal in the first half of the game to hold the 1-0 lead at halftime. In the second half the Lady Bulldogs kept fighting, but another goal from the War Eagles and they took the win, 2-0, over Toombs.


Th boys had a tough time with the 12-1 War Eagles. Toombs did get a goal in the first half, but they also gave up three as Putnam held a 3-1 lead at the break. In the second half the War Eagles found the back of the net three more times as they took the win, 6-1, over Toombs.

The loses ended the Bulldogs' season, but both teams had a good season, and will be looking forward to next year.
