Last Thursday at Robert Toombs Christian Academy Justin Walker signed his letter of intent to play basketball for the Barons of Brewton-Parker college in Mt. Vernon. Walker had just been at RTCA for two years, but helped lead his team to a Final Four and State Runner- up finishes.

Over the past two seasons with the Crusaders Walker has helped his team to a record of 44-7. He has been the point guard for the team directing traffic and has also been one of the top scorers on the team. He overcame a broken hand toward the end of this season, had surgery and was back playing in just a few weeks to help his team during their playoff run. He is a two-time All-Region, and All-State player for the Crusaders.

Walker said, “I feel good about this and am ready to get to work. I really liked how the coach was honest, didn't sugarcoat anything and let me know what he wanted out of me. I want to thank God, my family, coaches, and my teammates for all they have done.”

RTCA Coach Adam Callaway stated, “Super proud of Justin. He came over to us as a junior and made an impact right away. He just has a great work ethic, in the gym every single day, just trying to get better all the time. He has accomplished a lot here at RTCA and will do big things at Brewton-Parker.”

BPC Coach Stephen Birchfield said of Walker, “He obviously has talent and can play, but we are trying to build our team character and he is the type of kid we are looking for. When you go around town and ask about him, everyone has good things to say about him and his character. He is going to be a great piece in the puzzle of us building that foundation at BPC.”
