RTCA Boys & Girls Track Win Region RTCA Boys & Girls Track Win Region

Robert Toombs Christian Academy hosted the GISA Region 2AA Track meet on Wednesday of last week. RTCA competed against Memorial Day School, First Presbyterian Christian Academy, and Twiggs Academy. All of RTCA's athletes qualified for the GISA State Track Meet which will be held this weekend. This the tenth Region Championship in a row for Lady Crusaders and eighth in a row for the Crusaders. Jashaun Powell and Kylie Acosta were the high point winners for the meet. And both girls Coach Jake Wilkinson and boys Coach Rodger Walker were named Region Coaches of the Year.

Girls

Bringing home Region titles for the Lady Crusaders and leading the way was Kylie Acosta with 1st in the triple jump, 1st in the 100m dash, and 1st in the 200m dash, and Mary Claire Wolfe, who was 1st in the pole vault, 1st in the 100m hurdles, and 1st in the 300m hurdles.

Also earning titles were Marlie Dismuke in the long jump, Railee Thomas was 1st in the discus and 2nd in the shot put, Emmie Davis was 1st in the high jump, 2nd in the triple jump, and 2nd in the 400m dash, and Nicole Acosta was 1st in the 400m dash, 2nd in the 100m hurdles, and 3rd in the long jump.

Rachel Threlkeld was 2nd in the pole vault and 2nd in the 300m hurdles. Ellie Graham was 2nd in the 100m dash and in the 200m dash. Maddie Joyner was 2nd in the 800m run and was 3rd in the 1,600m run. Ansley Akins was 2nd in the high jump. Meredith Durden was 2nd in the 1,600m run. Katie McDuffie was 3rd in the shot put and was 4th in the discus. And Hannah Williams was 3rd in the 800m run.

The 4x100m relay team of Graham, Wolfe and Kylie and Nicole Acosta took 1st place and the 4x100m team of Thompson, Threlkeld, Davis and Thomas were 2nd. The 4x400m relay team of Kylie and Nicole Acosta, Davis and Graham were 1st, and the team of Akins, Williams, Threlkeld, and Wolfe were 2nd.

Boys

The RTCA boys were led by Jashaun Powell with 1st in the long jump, 1st in the triple jump and 2nd in the 100m dash, and Jackson Newton, who was 1st in the high jump, 1st in the 200m dash and 2nd in the 110m hurdles. TJ Stanley was 1st in the 400m dash and was 2nd in the triple jump, Trey Brant was 1st in the pole vault, Tyler Buggs was 1st in the shot put, Justin Johnson was 1st in the 300m hurdles, and Gage Brantley was 1st in the discus.

Drew Vaughn was 2nd in the 3,200m run, 3rd in the 1,600m run, and 3rd in the 800m run. Jayden Toole was 2nd in the high jump and 4th in the 400m dash. Austin Akins was 2nd in the shot put. Cameron Henson was 2nd in the discus. Andrew Tuck was 2nd in the 800m run, Hunter Ennis was 2nd in the 200m dash, and Justin Bowers was 3rd in the 300m hurdles.

The 4x100m relay team of Stanley, Newton, Ennis, and Powell came in 1st place and the team of Buggs, Heath, Toole, and Bowers was 4th. The 4x400m relay team of Stanley, Toole, Powell, and Tuck were 1st, and the team of Heath, Ennis, Newton, and Johnson finished 2nd.
