RTCA’s Literary Team Competes at STC RTCA’s Literary Team Competes at STC

Robert Toombs Christian Academy's Literary team competed at Southeastern Technical College with several other schools from the Georgia Independent Schools Association.

At the regional level, junior Jackson Newton received 1st place for Argumentative Essay Writing. Senior Kaitlyn Reaves received 2nd place for Personal Essay Writing. Junior Hannah Meek received 2nd place in Rhetorical Essay Writing, as well as Girl's Solo (singing). Junior Ellie Graham received 2nd place in the Spelling Competition. Freshman Trent Smith received 2nd place in Dramatic Oral Interpretation (monologue).

The State Competition was conducted virtually due to Covid-19. At the state level, freshman Trent Smith received 3rd place in Dramatic Oral Interpretation and junior Hannah Meek received 7th in both Girl's Solo and Rhetorical Essay. Austin Morris, RTCA's Literary Coordinator, said that he is very proud of his students and their literary achievements.
