Montgomery County Eagles Drop 2 Games

The Montgomery County High School Eagles baseball team played two games last week and fell in both contests. The Eagles lost to Atkinson County on the road on Tuesday and then dropped a game at home on Thursday to Jenkins County.

MCHS vs. Atkinson

The Rebels of Atkinson took the early lead with two runs in the bottom of the first inning, and then added two more in the second to lead the game 4-0. The Rebels plated a run in the fifth and then three more in the sixth inning on their way to an 8-0 win over MCHS.

Jenkins also got the jump on Montgomery as they put two across in the top of the first inning and extended that lead to 7-0 after five more in the second.

MCHS got on the board in the third inning with three runs, but in the top of the fourth Jenkins answered with two. MCHS added one more in the bottom of the fourth, but that was all they could get as they dropped the game 9-4 to the War Eagles.

This week the Eagles hosted Wilcox County on Tuesday after presstime to open the Region season. They will be at Wilcox County on Friday for a double header with the first game starting at 4:00 p.m.
