Wheeler Softball Gets A Win
The Wheeler County High School Lady Bulldogs softball team got one game in last week as they played Johnson County in Wrightsville. Wheeler got just enough going to take the Region win over the Lady Trojans.
Wheeler got off to a good start with two runs in the top of the first inning, but Johnson answered in the bottom half of the frame with a run of their own to make the score 2-1 early.
Wheeler added two more runs in the top of the second inning to pull ahead 4-1. The pitchers took over after that and neither team scored any more over the rest of the game as Wheeler took the 4-1 win.
Tess Vann and Logan Harrelson led Wheeler with two RBI's each. Emily Conner got the win in the circle for the Bulldogs.
Up next for the Lady Bulldogs was a home game against Montgomery County on Tuesday after presstime. They will host Wilcox County on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. and were scheduled to have a double header at home against Dooly County on Thursday, but those games have been cancelled.
