Rough Losses For MCHS

It was a challenging week for the Montgomery County High School Lady Eagles softball team as they dropped two games, extending their season record to 0-5 overall and 0-3 in Region play. vs. Jenkins Co.

On Monday, the Lady Eagles faced a formidable Jenkins County Lady War Eagles squad, who proved to be too much to handle. The visiting Lady War Eagles' offense was relentless, overwhelming the MCHS defense in a 21-0 shutout victory. The Lady Eagles struggled to find their rhythm at the plate against a strong Jenkins County pitcher, with Makailah Moore picking up the only hit of the game for MCHS. vs. Treutlen Co.

The following day brought another difficult matchup for the Lady Eagles, this time against the Treutlen County Lady Vikings. While the MCHS offense showed some signs of life, pushing three runs across the plate, it wasn't enough to contain the powerful Treutlen County attack. The Lady Vikings secured a 15-3 win, handing the Lady Eagles their fifth consecutive loss of the season.

Despite the setbacks, the Lady Eagles are not giving up. The young team is continuing to work hard in practice, focusing on fundamental skills and team cohesion. They know the road ahead is tough, but they are determined to improve with each game.

The Lady Eagles played a double header on Monday of this week after press time against McIntosh County Academy. They will be back in action with a double header at Washington County on Wednesday starting at 4:30 p.m. They will then play Wheeler County on Thursday at home at 5:30 p.m.
