The Robert Toombs Christian Academy Crusaders baseball team played a three-game Region series against Citizens Christian Academy last week. RTCA dropped two of the three games, but they did get a win in the final game of the series. RTCA is now 8-7 on the season, and they are 5-4 in Region play with just a couple of games left.

Game 1

On Monday of last week at home, RTCA hosted the Patriots. RTCA wasn't able to get much going on the offensive side of the ball as they got just two hits in the game.

CCA had a big second inning as they scored seven runs to jump out to the big lead. The Patriots added another run in the top of the fifth inning for an 8-0 lead, and then scored four more in the seventh on the way to a 12-0 win over RTCA.

The only hits of the day for RTCA came from Brittan Tabor and Brody Randall.

Game 2

Game 2 on Tuesday in Douglas was not much different than the first. RTCA was again held to just two hits in the game as CCA cruised to the win.

The Patriots picked up two runs in the bottom of the second inning to take the early lead. RTCA did get a run in the top of the third inning after an RBI from Banks Hopkins, but that was the only run of the game for RTCA.

CCA scored a run in the bottom of the third and then plated three more in the fifth to take a 6-1 lead. CCA scored three more in the sixth as they took the win from RTCA, 9-1.

Game 3

Game three of the series was back in Lyons and it went the complete other direction as RTCA belted out nine hits including two home runs on the way to an easy win.

Tabor drove in the first run of the game in the bottom of the first inning, but CCA plated a run in the top of the second and then another in the third to take a 2-1 lead over the Crusaders. But in the bottom of the frame RTCA got home runs from Gage Brantley and Bray Williamson as they took a 4-2 lead over CCA.

RTCA added four more runs in the fourth inning and four more in the sixth on the way to a 12-2 victory over CCA.

This week RTCA hosted David Emanuel Academy on Tuesday after presstime. They will be back in action on Thursday at Mount de Sales Academy in Macon at 5:00 p.m.
