Wheeler County Schools To Hold Graduation May 23

Wheeler County Schools will celebrate the official turning of the tassel by the Class of 2025 at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 23, at the Wheeler County High School’s football field.
Valedictorian Maryee Grace Selph – daughter of Ernest Selph and Crissy Smith – and Salutatorian and STAR Student Layne Lamar Gibbs will lead the graduates onto the field.
Honor graduates will follow after these leaders. Wheeler County High School Class of 2025 Honor Graduates are Faith Clark, Marley Palma, Kyleigh Horne, Mackenzie Scott, Sierra Connell, Marcy Delgado, Lily Diven, Caden Wooten, Lauren Humphrey, Aiden Atchley, Kyler Stinson, Ariana Durden, Kolt Bell, Anniyah Wright, Paisley McCranie, Lindsey Vinson, KJ Williams, Tara McClure, Ka’Briel Carswell, K’Dence Mackey, and Brandon Wilcox.
Other candidates for diplomas are Stacie Ates, Sy’Lexis Bennett, Carmen Bess, Jordan Bridges, Rylee Burkhalter, Edgar Chanchavac-Coj, Adriel Collins, Wade Deluca, Janiyah Dykes, Treasure Ferguson, ShaKayla Floyd, Katelenn Foy, Kobie Garvin, Journee Geter, Meyonna Gibson, JT Gills, Quen’Shawn Glasper, Nickolas Harrell, Makaylin Harvey, Danyon Hayes, Spencer Humphrey, Jordan Jones, Miracle Madison, Adam Parker, Ruben Pearce, Rolando Ramirez, Bobby Rowland, Joshawa Shaw, Riley Stovall, Jacob Swanson, Dantae Taylor, and Terica Travis.
Conducted entirely by the seniors, the program will be highlighted by the presentation of diplomas by Wheeler County Principal William Bell and Superintendent Dr. Alex Alvarez.
Another highlight of the event is the recessional of the graduates, which is a beautiful tradition at Wheeler County High School. Each senior will present a long-stemmed red rose from the class bouquet to his/her mother and his/her diploma to his/her father.
Several junior ushers will assist in making sure that the event runs smoothly. Those junior ushers are Trent Butler, Lane Connell, Anna Beth Ethredge, Layla Gibbs, Tyona Green, Nikita James, Erin Ricks, Isabelle Sellers, and Lily Van Houten.
