IN HONOR OF BLACK HISTORY MONTH — Ms. Anderson's second grade class at Wheeler County Elementary School honored Black History Month by exploring the lives of notable African American historical figures. Over the past two weeks, they focused on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and his pivotal role in ending segregation. The students engaged in a thoughtful craft activity where they reflected on what they know about Dr. King’s legacy. This exercise encouraged them to consider the lasting impact of his work and how our lives have been improved because of his efforts. After completing their writing, the students added a craft element — two hands, one colored and one white, joined together by a heart. The class also held a meaningful discussion about equality and the importance of love and respect for all people. CHAINSAW WORK – Team Rubicon spent several months working to complete chainsaw work throughout Toombs County to help in Hurricane Helene relief efforts.
