BRIEF BUT VIOLENT THUNDERSTORM WREAKS HAVOC ON MOSLEY STREET - Mother nature continues to rain down her wrath on Vidalia in a followup to the recent tropical storm Debby that hit our area. In town several huge trees were toppled taking with them electrical power poles and lines on Mosley Street. The damage occurred around 8:30 pm Sunday when a brief but strong thunderstorm packing high winds knocked down the mammoth trees. Residents were without power for a while but approximately seven Georgia Power crews and tree removal services were on scene to remove the trees, repair damaged poles and lines and restore electrical service to the residents.
