Five Indicted On Murder Charges

During the January Term of the Wheeler County Grand Jury, jurors returned 31 true bills of indictment – three of which charged several individuals on murder charges.

unauthorized possession of a weapon by an inmate, as he is accused of stabbing London Laparrish with a homemade weapon within the Wheeler Correctional Facility on March 21, 2023. Aguilera and Gonzalez- Feliz each face charges of unlawful acts of violence and unauthorized possession of a weapon for aiding Hernadez in the stabbing, as they each brandished their own sharp, homemade weapons.

Kelvin Jermaine Redding Jr. was another inmate indicted by the Grand Jury for a murder that happened within the correctional facility. He is charged with one count of malice murder, one count of felony murder, one count of aggravated assault, one count of possession of a knife during commission of a felony, one count of unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution, and one count of possession of prohibited items by inmates.

Redding is accused of stabbing Wheeler Correctional Facility Inmate Saquan Anderson on March 3, 2025. On the day of the incident, authorities reported that Anderson was taken to Memorial Health Meadows Hospital for treatment, but was pronounced dead at 10:08 a.m. His body was taken to the Georgia Crime Lab for autopsy.

Hernadez, Aguilera, Gonzalez-Felix, and Redding will now each enter a formal plea to the court to determine their next steps in the judicial process.

Randy Quincy Booker was indicted on one count of malice murder, one count of felony murder, three counts of aggravated assault, and one count of hit and run for an incident that took the life of his father- in-law on November 2, 2025.

At around 6:30 p.m. on November 2, the Wheeler County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to an area near the intersection of Rivers Lane and Old Glenwood Road, where it was reported that a son-in-law had run over his wife’s father.

According to the investigation, Randy Booker, 48, of Glenwood, ran over his father-in-law Sam Floyd, 64, with a Ford pickup truck after the men got into an argument at a family birthday party earlier that day. Floyd succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced dead. Law enforcement officials have not disclosed what caused the argument.

Booker’s wife Whitney Floyd was also indicted by the Wheeler County Grand Jury, as she is charged with one count of hindering apprehension or punishment of a criminal, as she is accused of helping Booker to avoid being captured after the murder. Other Crimes Related to Wheeler Correctional Facility

Latersa Michell Harris was indicted on charges of sexual contact by employee or agent in the first degree and violation of oath by a public officer, as she is accused of having sexual relations with an inmate within the Wheeler Correctional Facility on December 19, 2023, and later showing favoritism and partiality to him.

The Wheeler County Grand Jury indicted Lexus Jada Wright on charges related to an incident in which she is believed to have furnished a stored value card to an inmate through digital currency while working at the Wheeler Correctional Facility between May 20, 2024, and May 23, 2024. Wright is facing charges of violation of oath by public officers, trading with inmates, and furnishing an inmate a stored value card, card account number, or personal identification number (PIN).

Jautica Williams was indicted on charges of crossing the guard lines with drugs, furnishing prohibited items to inmates, and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, as she is suspected of giving inmates marijuana inside the Wheeler Correctional Facility on March 17, 2025.

Jaizel Adan Hamlet and Carlos Anthony Pachajoa were also indicted for giving items to inmates, as they were indicted on charges of furnishing prohibited items to inmates, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and furnishing prohibited items to inmates. Hamlet and Pachajoa are suspected of giving marijuana, rolling paper, wrappers, bolt cutters, zipties, and earbuds to inmates on September 29, 2025.

Offenses Related to Wheeler County Jail The Wheeler County Grand Jury indicted Matthew Barton Purvis on one count of possession of methamphetamine and crossing the guard line with contraband, as he came in the Wheeler County Jail while having marijuana on his person.

Kobi Lee Todd was also charged with crossing the guard line with contraband, along with possession of a firearm by a first offender probationer, possession of methamphetamine (less than an ounce), and speeding for an incident on September 2, 2025.

Commissioners

Jerry Glen Herndon was indicted on a single count of theft by deception, as he is accused of stealing $1,800 from the Wheeler County Board of Commissioners. Herndon was paid the stolen amount and promised to repair multiple county buildings in return, but failed to do so from March 13, 2025, until September 5, 2025, when the Commissioners pressed charges.
