During a called meeting on Thursday morning, January 22, the Wheeler County Board of Commissioners set the qualifying fees for the upcoming Board of Education elections.

This year, three seats are up for election on the Board of Education – the district 2 seat, district 6 seat, and at-large seats. These positions are currently held by Board Member Henry Thomas Clark (District 2), Board Vice Chairwoman Judy Benton (District 6), and Board Chairman Michael Morrison (At-Large). Qualifying for these positions will cost 3% of the position’s salary, totaling $42 each. Qualifying will be held in March at the Wheeler County Board of Elections office, located at 23 McRae Street in Alamo.

For more information, call the Wheeler County Board of Elections office at (912) 568-7518.
