Singletary Named MoCo Spelling Bee System Champion

Montgomery County Schools recently hosted a School System Spelling Bee, where students in fourth grade through eighth grade went headto- head to determine who was the best speller within the school, and it was Montgomery County Middle School 7th Grader Betty Singletary who walked away with the title of School System Spelling Bee Champion.
Each year, students within Montgomery County Schools compete with other students in their grades and school to determine who has the best spelling abilities within the school. The top students from Montgomery County Elementary and Middle Schools then face off with each other for the chance to call themselves the best speller in the district.
This year, Singletary rose to the top, outspelling all her competitors. Montgomery County Elementary School 5th Grader Eilynn Love was not far behind Singletary, as she took home the School System Spelling Bee Runner-Up title.
Other participants were 5th Grader Fatima Momin, 5th Grader Treasure Green, 4th Grader Conner Kuntz, 8th Grader Kayden Lee, 7th Grader Jennifer Garcia, 8th Grader Francisco Perez-Aguillon, 8th Grader Italy Thornton, and 8th Grader Taylor Troupe.
