FCA Gives Glory To God’s Many Blessings

This Thanksgiving, as Americans lift their hearts in gratitude for the Lord’s abundance of blessings, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA, www.fca.org) is acknowledging the impact of their mission to reach coaches and athletes around the world with God’s glory.
“As we approach Thanksgiving, I’m reminded once again of the power of gratitude. Scripture calls us to give thanks in everything — not just when life is easy, but also when challenges come our way. Gratitude shifts our focus from what’s missing to what God is doing right now, in and through us,” said Shane Williamson, FCA President and CEO.
“Gratitude builds unity, strengthens faith and points the glory back to Jesus — the ultimate gift we’ve received.”
For FCA, the work they do with coaches and athletes has shown a massive impact over the past year alone. For FCA’s fiscal year (September 2024-August 2025), FCA reported growth in multiple areas of their ministry: 53,158 total faith decisions for Christ through a variety of FCA events, including Huddles, Camps, Fields of Faith and more. 21,161 certified Huddles. 1,058 Camps with 114,548 campers — a new FCA record. 309 FCA Sports Leagues and Clubs with 29,821 athletes. Six hundred and thirty-one registered Fields of Faith events where thousands of student-athletes, coaches, parents and community members worshiped together, heard from inspiring speakers, prayed and committed to reading their Bible on athletic fields in the U.S. and globally.
Through these various avenues, FCA has also distributed 219,444 Bibles. This month, FCA is marking 71 years of staying true to the mission of leading every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church.
“At FCA, we’ve seen God’s faithfulness in countless ways this year — through lives changed by the Gospel, coaches and athletes growing in faith and teams being transformed by the power of Christ. Every story, every Huddle, every conversation is a reminder that God is at work,” remarked Williamson.
During this season of gratitude, FCA is pleased to inspire coaches and athletes to reflect on what they might have to be thankful for this year. Partnering with the Bible app, FCA has an eightday devotional titled “The Thankful Competitor.” The devotional follows the eight stages of being a thankful competitor, both on and off the athletic field.
“As we compete for Christ, we must praise Him in all circumstances. Whether winning or losing or competing or coaching, the thankful competitor always gives thanks to God — without Him, our lives, our teams and our sport, lack purpose,” the devotional declares.
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ vision is to see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes. Its mission is to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church. FCA’s guiding values are integrity, serving, teamwork and excellence.
Since 1954, FCA has used the powerful medium of sports and building relationships to reach the world for Jesus Christ. FCA is cultivating Christian principles by engaging, equipping and empowering coaches and athletes to know and grow in Christ and lead others to do the same so that lives are changed for current and future generations.
