Yurezz Files Bankruptcy

Yurezz Home Center has officially filed a voluntary petition for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Georgia.

This petition was submitted to the Court on Monday, July 20, by Yurezz’s representing attorney and signed by Yurezz Home Center Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Secretary Heather Altman, who is married to the business’s owner Richard Altman.

The petition states that Yurezz Home Center owes payments to numerous creditors totaling between $10 million and $50 million. A hearing will soon be held where creditors discuss the petition with the Court, as these individuals may oppose petition.

Among other creditors, the bankruptcy petition lists both Richard and Heather Altman, along with two of their businesses – Yess Holdings, LLC, of Baxley and YurHealth, LLC, of Baxley — as creditors waiting to be paid by Yurezz Home Center.

According to the document, Yurezz Home Center owes funds to several government agencies, including the Appling County Tax Commissioner, Bulloch County Tax Commissioner, City of McRae-Helena, Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Lincoln County Clerk of Delinquent Tax Department (Kentucky), Lincoln County Sheriff (Kentucky), Mississippi Department of Employment Security Tax Department – Bankruptcy Unit, Mississippi Department of Revenue – Bankruptcy Section, Montgomery County Board of Commissioners, Montgomery County Tax Commissioner, Office of Georgia Attorney Bankruptcy Department, Telfair County Board of Commissioners, Telfair County Tax Commissioner, Tennessee Attorney General’s Office Division of Consumer Affairs, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development Employee Security Division, and Tennessee Department of Revenue – Bankruptcy Department.

In addition to these government agencies, several local businesses are listed as creditors, such as 121 Truck Repair, Inc. of Collins; Altamaha Bank & Trust of Vidalia; Berry Mobile Home SV & Setup of Cobbtown; Energy 8 LN of Soperton; Excelsior EMC of Metter; Georgia First Bank of Soperton; Georgia Power; Jalarm Group, LLC of Vidalia; Mississippi Power; Mobley’s Well & Pump Service, Inc. of Vidalia; Patriot’s Electric of Glenwood; RSK Heating & Air LLC of Collins; The Temples Company of Vidalia; Wells Fargo Financial Leasing, Inc.; and Woody Folsom Ford of Baxley.

Several listed creditors are customers who purchased homes from the business while it was in operation but have not yet received their houses or any refunds.
