Flooding Hinders Hospital Services

Memorial Health Meadows Hospital services were temporarily halted on Monday, July 20, as the facility experienced flooding.

On Monday morning, the hospital announced that all patients and colleagues were safe, but scheduled procedures, appointments, and most services would not be open at the facility because of the flooding. In addition, visitors were not permitted at the hospital, and impacted patients were contacted by hospital representatives to postpone scheduled procedures.

The hospital continued to be closed on Tuesday, July 21. The emergency room and Tommy and Shirley Strickland Cancer Center remained open throughout the issue.

At the time of press, the cause of the flooding had not been released.
