Save the Bees

Meet & Greet

The Altamaha Beekeepers Association will bring a live bee hive to the Montgomery County Public Library, located at 215 Railroad Avenue in Mount Vernon, at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, as the beekeepers inform patrons about bees and their needs, give attendees an up-close look at a hive, and answer questions. Last Summer

Meals Pick-Up

Families and children may pick up free groceries for the summer for the last time on Monday, July 27, through the Happy Helpings Program at the Wheeler County Library, located at 61 Main Street in Alamo. The giveaway is free for all kids, ages 18 and under. Children do not have to be present to pick up food, and kids may even pick up meals for themselves. For more information, call (912) 5687321.

Public Forum

The City of Vidalia will hear comments, questions, and concerns from citizens about the newly proposed Neighborhood Overlay Ordinance at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, at the Council Chambers at the John Raymond Turner Municipal Annex, located at 308 First Street East.
