Summer Camps At RTCA

With the school year drawing to a close, Robert Toombs Christian Academy is gearing up for a busy summer. The Crusaders have officially opened registration for their comprehensive slate of summer camps, offering local kids a chance to stay active and engaged over the break. Notably, these camps are open to the general public, welcoming youth from all over the area rather than just enrolled RTCA students.

The camps are primarily geared toward rising kindergarten through fifth-grade students, providing a solid mix of athletics and creative learning. For an $80 registration fee, campers will receive a camp T-shirt, daily snacks, and handson instruction in their chosen activity. Parents have a variety of ways to sign up, whether it is stopping by the front office in person or visiting rtcacrusaders.org to fill out the summer camp form. Payments are being accepted via cash, check, or Venmo at Robert-Toombs- 628.

The summer schedule kicks off right out of the gate in late May. From May 26 through May 28, the RTCA softball field will host the combined baseball and softball camps. Moving into the following week, the focus shifts indoors to the hardwood. The basketball camp is set to run from June 1 through June 3 inside the RTCA gym. Standard operating hours for these morning sessions run from 9 a.m. until noon.

Mid-June brings a change of pace to the campus. For students specifically entering first through fifth grade, a STEM and LEGO camp will take over the RTCA lunchroom from June 8 through June 10. The following week, from June 15 through June 17, the action returns to the gridiron with football and cheerleading camps taking place on the RTCA football field.

The final week of the scheduled programming, running from June 22 through June 24, offers a double feature. A morning soccer camp will take place on the football field from 9 a.m. to noon. Following that, the school is offering an afternoon art camp for first through fifth graders in the lunchroom from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

It is a well-rounded lineup designed to give local youth a productive outlet during the long summer months. For any parents needing more information before signing up, RTCA Athletic Director Adam Callaway is handling inquiries and can be reached via email at acallaway@gortca. com.
