Indian Soccer Advances To 2nd Round

The Vidalia High School soccer teams experienced both sides of postseason soccer last week, with the boys advancing in the GHSA State Playoffs while the girls saw their solid season come to a close.
Girls
Hosting the first round on Tuesday, the Lady Indians faced off against the Rabun County Lady Wildcats. Despite a tough, physical effort on their home field, Vidalia was handed a 4-2 loss. It is a bitter end to what was otherwise a standout year. The Lady Indians wrapped up the season with an impressive 14-5 record, proving their consistency week in and week out to earn their spot in the state bracket.
Boys
On the boys' side, the Indians packed up and hit the road Wednesday to take on the Lamar County Trojans. Vidalia dictated the match, putting together a complete performance to come away with a clean 3-0 shutout victory and keep their season alive.
The decisive road win moves the Indians to 11-7 on the year and punches their ticket to the second round. The boys will not have much time to celebrate as they prep for another away game this week. The Indians travel to Putnam County this Wednesday to take on the War Eagles, with kickoff set for 6:00 p.m. as they look to keep this playoff run going.
