Baker – who also serves as a pastor in Montgomery County – led the group in prayer, as they prayed for rain, relief and comfort for those affected by wildfires and the drought, and a safe festival.
It has been over a month since the region has had significant rainfall, as the U.S. Drought Monitor recently announced that almost all of the entire area of Toombs, Montgomery, Treutlen, and Wheeler Counties is considered to be in a “D4 level” exceptional drought.
Baker and Hopkins encouraged attendees to remain hopeful that rain would hydrate the area soon, as they reminded everyone to continue to pray for rain.
