Vidalia Library Hosting Programming For All Ages

The Dr. Mark and Tonya Spivey Public Library will be bustling with activity throughout April, as the library hosts numerous events for patrons of all ages.

Community members can bring in photos and have them digitally preserved during the Ladson Scan Day from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, at the Ladson Genealogical Library housed within the Dr. Mark and Tonya Spivey Public Library.

Chess enthusiasts of all ages can work on their skills and play against other competitors during the Chess Club meeting at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 9.

The library’s youngest patrons – ages birth through five – can learn through movement and song during the Wiggles and Giggles program at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 10.

On Saturday, April 11, Adults can learn more about studying their genealogy during the Genealogy Basics program at 11 a.m. and patrons of all ages can see and interact with the library’s composting bin and worm beds at 12 p.m. as a part of the Worm Weekends program.

The Toombs County Library Board will host their monthly meeting at the library at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, April 13.

On Tuesday, April 14, children, ages five and under, can enjoy having a book read to them during Story Time at 11 a.m., while kids, ages 6 through 14, meet for Lego Club later at 4 p.m. and can enjoy an art-based story time during Art and Tales at 4:30 p.m.

Kids can explore the library’s Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) room and 3-D printer during Spark Time from 3:45 p.m. until 4:45 p.m., and adults (ages 20 and older) of all experience levels will gather to play Dungeons and Dragons from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15.

Children can enjoy playing against one another in both virtual and board games during the Game Time! program at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 16.

On Friday, April 17, Wiggles and Giggles will help the library’s youngest patrons to learn more through movement at 10:30 a.m., then will have teenagers (ages 13-19) of all experience levels gather to play Dungeons and Dragons at 4 p.m.

Patrons of all ages may come learn more about composting and worm beds, while also interacting with the library’s worm bed, during the Worm Weekends program at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 18.

Community members will gather to play Bingo at the library at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, April 20.

On Tuesday, April 21, children, ages five and under, can enjoy having a book read to them during Story Time at 11 a.m., while kids, ages 6 through 14, meet for Lego Club later at 4 p.m. and can enjoy an art-based story time during Art and Tales at 4:30 p.m.

The Ohoopee Regional Library System will host their board meeting at the library at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22.

Chess enthusiasts of all ages will meet for Chess Club at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 23.

On Friday, April 24, Wiggles and Giggles will help the library’s youngest patrons to learn through movement at 10:30 a.m., then will have kids to enjoy a sweet treat while painting during Cookies and Canvas at 4 p.m. Cookies and Canvas attendees must preregister before the event by calling the library.

Patrons of all ages can see and interact with the library’s composting bin and worm beds at 12 p.m. as a part of the Worm Weekends program on Saturday, April 25.

Adults will meet for the Sweet Onion Book Club at 5 p.m. on Monday, April 27. To learn more about the book the Club is currently reading, or to obtain a copy, call the library or visit the circulation desk.
