April Bustling With Activities at MoCo Library

The Montgomery County Public Library has packed their schedule with numerous exciting events and programs for all ages throughout the month of April.
On Wednesday, April 8, adults will meet for Coffee and Coloring at 10:30 a.m., while kids (ages 6-14) will have the opportunity to make a paper plate basket during Crafternoon from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Lego enthusiasts of all ages will complete challenges and build unique structures during Lego Club from 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.
Community members of all ages can come out and thank their local first responders, try on tactical gear, and learn more about emergency response vehicles during the Thank You First Responders event at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 9.
Teenagers will meet to play Magic: The Gathering in the meeting room, while kids meet for Pokemon Club in the main library at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 11.
On Monday, April 13, infants and toddlers (birth through 5 years old) can come out and learn more through music and play during Wiggles and Giggles at 11 a.m. and complete a building flowers activity during Toddle Time at 11:30 a.m. Adults will meet for Cozy Hook Crocheting with Sheryl at 2:30 p.m.
The adult book club will discuss Carnegie’s Maid during their meeting at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14.
On Wednesday, April 15, adults will meet for Coffee and Coloring at 10:30 a.m., while kids (ages 6-14) will have the opportunity to make a coffee filter butterfly during Crafternoon from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Lego Club will bring Lego enthusiasts of all ages to the library to complete projects and challenges from 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.
The Kids Craft Club will make drip art projects at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 16.
Community members of all ages will gather at the library to play several rounds of Bingo at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 18.
On Monday, April 20, Wiggles and Giggles will fill the location with laughter at 11 a.m., while Toddle Time will explore the fun of bubbles and chalk at 11:30 a.m.
Patrons may complete a painting of an umbrella and flowers while enjoying a sweet treat during the monthly Cookies and Canvas event at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21.
On Wednesday, April 22, adults will meet for Coffee and Coloring at 10:30 a.m., while kids (ages 6-14) will have the opportunity to make a pinwheel during Crafternoon from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Lego enthusiasts of all ages will complete challenges and build unique structures during Lego Club from 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.
Crafty Tales will blend flower art projects with a story time for kids at 2:30 p.m., while adults meet late for Photography Club at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 23.
On Monday, April 27, infants and toddlers (birth through 5 years old) can come out and learn more through music and play during Wiggles and Giggles at 11 a.m. and play with bubbles and chalk during Toddle Time at 11:30 a.m.
Kids can make rainbow bubbles during a Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) activity at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28.
On Wednesday, April 29, adults will meet for Coffee and Coloring at 10:30 a.m., while kids (ages 6-14) will have the opportunity to make pom pom poppers during Crafternoon from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Lego Club will bring Lego enthusiasts of all ages to the library to complete projects and challenges from 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.
Kids will make a butterfly during the Pasta Art program at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 30.
All programs are open to the public and free to attend. Montgomery County Public Library Manager Kelly Stephens emphasized that the library will not be like the stereotypical silent areas because more programming for kids means that more noise will fill the library.
The library is located at 215 South Railroad Avenue in Mount Vernon, and is open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, and from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday. The library is closed on Friday and Sunday. For more information, call (912) 583-2780.
