Heritage Split With Covenant

The Vidalia Heritage Academy Lady Eagles soccer team secured a shutout win over the Covenant Academy Rams on Friday, while the Eagles boys team came up just short in a defensive battle against the visitors.

Girls vs. Covenant

In the girls' matchup, Allison McLain provided all the offense Heritage needed. McLain found the back of the net in the first half to give VHA a 1-0 lead going into the break. The second half turned into a defensive grind, with neither side able to break through, allowing the Lady Eagles to walk away with the 1-0 victory. The win puts the girls at 4-6 overall with a 2-5 mark in Region play.

Boys vs. Covenant

The boys' game followed a similar low-scoring script, but the result went the other way. The Rams managed to put one past the Eagles' defense to take a 1-0 win. The loss drops the boys to 0-8 on the season and 0-5 in the Region.

VHA was back on the pitch Tuesday hosting Trinity Christian, though results were not available at presstime. Both teams return to home action this Thursday when FPCA comes to town for a 5:00 p.m. kickoff.
