The Downtown Vidalia Association will celebrate spring, promote local businesses, and celebrate the talent of local artists from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 28.
During the event, mural artists will work to paint murals in Meadows Park, as an effort to help beautify and revitalize the area. A community mural cube celebrating both Vidalia and the 250th anniversary of the creation of the United States of America will also be available for members of the public to paint as an act of unity. This mural cube was designed by Dara Dennis, who has outlined the paintings on each side; on Saturday, community members will take turns filling in the colors on this cube in a paint-by-numbers fashion, bringing the image to life.
Meadows Park will also host a free photo opportunity with Mr. And Mrs. Easter Bunny from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, as the bunnies visit the community in preparation for Easter.
Art in the Park will also feature an artisan market and food trucks for attendees to peruse and purchase from.
The Downtown Vidalia Shop Hop will be occurring at the same time, as people are invited to shop in the stores throughout the downtown area, and to hunt for golden eggs that are hidden in several of these stores. When a golden egg is found, the finder will receive Downtown Vidalia Association (DVA) Dollars – gift certificates that can be used at Downtown Vidalia Association member businesses – of various amounts.
These events are free to attend. For more information, call the Downtown Vidalia Association at (912) 537-8033.

COMMUNITY PAINTING – During the Art in the Park event on March 28, community members will be able to paint a community mural cube, which has already been outlined with designs by Dara Dennis.
