Burton Speaks to the Four Rivers Patriots Chapter

The Four Rivers Patriots Chapter, Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution held its monthly meeting on Thursday night, March 19, 2026, at Chatters Restaurant in Lyons at 6:00. With President Joel Keener presiding, they had 15 in attendance.

East Fall Line Region Vice President Dess Smith introduced the speaker, Compatriot Allen Burton of the Washington Wilkes Chapter in Washington, GA, who presented 'Banastre Tarleton.'

Burton and his wife live in Washington, GA. He retired from the U.S. Army as an LTC and is a Vietnam Veteran. He still works full time at Augusta State University as a History Professor.

President Joel Keener presented Sgt.-at-Arms Dan Brown with the a chapter flag streamer for Dan presenting the chapter wreath at the 247th Anniversary Celebration of the Battle at Brier Creek on February 28, 2026. The next meeting will be Thursday night, April 16, 2026, at Chatters Restaurant at 6:00 to eat.
