Rough Week at Home for VHA

It was a challenging week on the diamond for the Vidalia Heritage Academy Eagles baseball team, as the team dropped a pair of home contests to fall to 3-5 on the season. VHA hosted the John Milledge Academy Trojans on Tuesday before welcoming the David Emanuel Academy Eagles on Thursday, struggling to maintain momentum in both matchups. vs. John Milledge

In Tuesday's game, the Trojans jumped out to a quick lead with three runs in the top of the first inning. The Eagles battled back, plating a run in the bottom of the first and adding another in the third to narrow the deficit to a tight 3-2. John Milledge responded by picking up one run in the fourth and two more in the sixth to extend their advantage to 6-2. Despite pushing one final run across in the bottom of the seventh, Heritage ultimately fell short, taking a 6-3 loss. vs. DEA

Thursday’s game against David Emanuel proved to be an even tougher outing for Heritage. DEA established early control with a run in the first inning and added two more in the second to build a 3-0 lead. The visiting DEA Eagles steadily added to their tally with one run in the fourth and two in the fifth. DEA then completely blew the game open with a massive 10run rally in the top of the sixth inning, handing VHA a 16-0 shutout defeat.

Looking to bounce back from the tough homestand, the Eagles will hit the road for three games this week. VHA travels to Griffin on Thursday to face Trinity Christian School at 4:00 p.m. The team will then head to Savannah on Saturday for a doubleheader against St. Andrew's, with the first pitch scheduled for noon.
