Indians Take 2 From Metter

The Vidalia High School Indians baseball team traveled to Metter last Wednesday and brought home a pair of victories, sweeping a doubleheader against the Tigers.
Game 1
The Indians won the first game of the day easily with a 10-0 shutout over the Tigers. Vidalia's offense went to work, putting up two runs in the top of the first inning and adding three more in the second to take a commanding 5-0 lead. The Indians continued to build their advantage later in the game, scoring two runs in the top of the fifth and plating three more in the sixth to secure the blowout win.
Game 2
Despite playing on the road, Vidalia acted as the home team for the second matchup and relied on early offense to seal a 6-2 victory. The Indians jumped out to a quick lead with two runs in the bottom of the first inning. They broke the game open in the bottom of the third, scoring four runs to push their advantage to 6-0. Metter finally managed to get on the board with two runs in the top of the seventh inning, but the Vidalia defense shut down any hopes of a late rally to complete the sweep.
VHS is now 12-6 on the season and begin Region play this week.
