After the teams traded single runs in the sixth and seventh innings, the War Eagles mounted a fierce comeback attempt in the bottom of the seventh. Game 2 Game 2 of the doubleheader was all Treutlen, as the Vikings cruised to a dominant 13-0 run-rule victory. Acie Dickens put Treutlen on the board with an RBI single in the second inning before the offense completely broke the game open with a massive 10-run third inning. The explosive frame featured a two-RBI single from DJ Steptoe, a basesloaded three-run triple by Jack Walker, a basesloaded walk drawn by Brylan Ikner, a two-RBI single from Caden Parrish, and another RBI single from Steptoe. The Vikings added their final two runs in the bottom of the fourth to seal the 13-0 shutout.
The Vikings looked to keep their momentum rolling this week as they traveled to Montgomery County on Tuesday for a matchup that concluded after presstime. Treutlen will be back on the diamond Wednesday for a 5:00 p.m. road game against Baldwin before returning home to host Montgomery County on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
