The Vidalia High School Indians soccer teams faced a tough test early last week but rallied to finish strong at home. On Tuesday, VHS hosted the Savannah Country Day Hornets and dropped both matches, but the squads quickly bounced back on Thursday with a dominant home sweep over the Washington County Golden Hawks. In Tuesday's action against the Lady Hornets, Vidalia found themselves outmatched early. Savannah poured in six goals in the first half and added four more in the second to hand the Lady Indians a 10-0 defeat. Boys vs. Country Day

On the boys' side, the Hornets jumped out to a 3-1 lead by halftime. Savannah controlled the pace in the second half, adding one final goal to secure a 4-1 victory over the Indians. Girls vs.

Washington Co. Thursday told a much different story for VHS against Washington County. In a tight defensive battle for the girls, Giselle Garcia netted the lone goal for the Lady Indians. The Vidalia defense held strong from start to finish, keeping the Lady Golden Hawks off the board entirely to claim a hard-fought 1-0 shutout win. Boys vs.

Washington Co. The boys' team followed up with a commanding performance, rolling over Washington County 9-0. The Indians' offense exploded for four goals in the first half and kept their foot on the gas with five more in the second half to seal the blowout victory.

Looking ahead, the Lady Indians traveled to St. Vincent's this Tuesday for a match completed after presstime. Both the boys' and girls' squads will hit the road on Friday to face Swainsboro, with the action kicking off at 5:00 p.m.
