VHA Eagles Split Road Trip

The Vidalia Heritage Academy Eagles baseball team experienced a rollercoaster of a week on the road. They pulled off a dramatic comeback victory against David Emanuel Academy before falling to John Milledge Academy.

vs. DEA

Against the DEA Eagles on Tuesday, Jake Adams had a massive performance at the plate. He drove in five runs on three hits to lead Heritage to an 11-8 extra-inning win.

VHA struck first in the top of the opening frame when Pearson O'Neal scored on a sacrifice fly. Adams followed with an RBI to give them an early 2-0 advantage.

DEA quickly answered with four runs in the bottom of the first. They then plated four more in the second to build a commanding 8-2 lead.

Refusing to back down, the Heritage offense roared to life with a four-run rally in the fifth inning. This closed the gap to 8-6.

The Eagles continued to chip away, adding a run in the sixth and another in the seventh. This knotted the score at 8-8 and forced extra innings.

In the top of the eighth, VHA's momentum culminated in a three-run surge. They held on to secure the thrilling 11-8 comeback victory. vs. John Milledge

The Eagles were back on the diamond Friday to face the Trojans of John Milledge Academy. They couldn't replicate the midweek magic, taking an 8-1 loss.

Heritage once again opened the scoring, taking a 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning. This came courtesy of an RBI hit by Adams.

The Trojans immediately responded with three runs in the bottom half of the inning to seize the lead.

John Milledge kept the pressure on for the remainder of the game. They added a single run in the fourth, another in the fifth, and a final three runs in the sixth to pull away for the win.

This week, Heritage hosted John Milledge on Tuesday in a game that concluded after presstime. The Eagles will be back in action at home on Thursday. David Emanuel comes to town for a 4:30 p.m. rematch.
