TCHS Wins Over Dodge Co.

The Toombs County High School Bulldogs soccer teams split their home matchups last week, suffering tough losses against the Pierce County Bears on Tuesday before rebounding with definitive victories over the Dodge County Indians on Friday.

Girls vs. Pierce

It was a hard-fought defensive battle, with neither team finding the back of the net in the first half. In the second half, Pierce County managed to slip past the defense for the lone goal of the game, handing the Lady Bulldogs a narrow 1-0 defeat.

Boys vs. Pierce

The boys' team also struggled to establish an offensive rhythm against the Bears, ultimately falling in their Tuesday contest by a score of 2-0.

Girls vs. Dodge

The Lady Bulldogs' offense erupted on Friday against Dodge County. Toombs took a 2-0 lead into halftime and kept the pressure on, adding four more goals in the second half to roll to a commanding 6-0 shutout win. Kanijah Toby powered the offense with a three-goal hat trick, while Emma Wright and Deanna Gonzalez each added a goal to secure the victory.

Boys vs. Dodge

The Toombs boys also found their stride against the Indians, taking home a solid 5-2 victory. Daniel Santoyo and Krystian Florez led the attacking front, scoring two goals apiece, while Osvaldo Tinoco rounded out the scoring by adding one goal of his own.

This week, the Bulldogs hosted Savannah Country Day on Tuesday in a match that concluded after presstime. Both teams will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to face Savannah Christian at 3:30 p.m.
