The Toombs County High School Lake Dawgs fishing team took to the waters of Clarks Hill Lake for a GHSA Qualifying Tournament last week, beating the competition to secure a first-place victory and punch their ticket to the State Tournament.

Anglers AJ Bagby and Tessa Jones got the win for Toombs County, putting together a solid performance against a tough field of competitors. The duo managed to find the right spots and the right bites, bringing in a big haul to claim the top spot on the leaderboard. Bagby and Jones caught an impressive total of 19 lbs, 1 oz to win the tournament outright, officially securing their spot in the GHSA State Tournament this May.
