Lady Bulldogs Rally Past Johnson County; Boys Edge Out Treutlen

The Wheeler County High School Bulldogs soccer teams saw a mix of tight matchups and tough losses last week as they took on Treutlen County, Johnson County, and Bleckley County.

Girls vs. Treutlen Co.

On Tuesday, the Vikings of Treutlen County were in town for a doubleheader. The girls game was a defensive battle with just one goal scored in the game. Neither team found the back of the net in the first half, but in the second half, the Lady Vikings picked up one goal, which was the deciding factor as they took the win, 1-0.

Boys vs. Treutlen Co.

In the boys game, the Bulldogs successfully held off the Vikings as they took a 4-3 win.

Girls vs. Johnson Co.

On Friday, the Lady Bulldogs were on the road at the Lady Trojans of Johnson County, while the boys hosted the Royals of Bleckley County. Against Johnson County, the Lady Trojans scored a goal in the first half to take a 1-0 lead into halftime. In the second half, the Lady Bulldogs rallied to tie the game at 1-1 and then got the game-winning goal to secure a 2-1 victory.

In the boys game, the visiting Royals were too much for the Bulldogs as they ran away with a 6-1 win.

This week, the Bulldogs were at Hawkinsville on Tuesday after presstime. They will be back in action on Friday when Dooly County comes to town at 5:00 p.m.
