The Brewton-Parker Christian University Barons baseball team traveled to Reinhardt University to take on the Eagles in a midweek game on March 3. Despite a strong third inning, the Barons were unable to keep the Eagles off the board and dropped the game 8-6.

Trailing 3–0 entering the top of the third, the Barons’ lineup erupted to flip the game. Anthony Savarese ignited the surge with a double, and Brewton- Parker continued to string together extra-base hits. Zach Carlton and Michael Son followed with run-scoring doubles as the Barons sent hitters cycling through the order and pushed six runs across to seize a 6–3 lead. The big frame was capped by Marquette Gibson, who launched a two-run home run as part of the rally that scored the Barons’ only runs of the game.

Reinhardt, however, chipped away and ultimately reclaimed control. After scoring in each of the first three innings to build the initial 3–0 advantage, the Eagles mounted the game’s turning point in the fifth. With the Barons still holding a 6–5 edge, Reinhardt’s Sam Holthaus delivered a two-run home run to right-center, pushing the hosts back in front, 7–6. An inning later, a sacrifice fly from Juan Pablo Morales added an insurance run to make it 8–6, a margin that held the rest of the way.

On the mound, Brewton-Parker pitchers worked eight innings, allowing 10 hits and six earned runs while issuing three walks and recording two strikeouts. The Barons’ defense gave up two errors in the game and were unable to stop the Eagles’ comeback.
