Lady Eagles Over Lady Trojans
The Montgomery County High School Lady Eagles soccer team secured a decisive victory in their lone matchup last week, taking down the Johnson County Lady Trojans 4-1 on the pitch.
The MCHS offense came out aggressive right from the opening whistle. The Lady Eagles kept the pressure on the Johnson County defense, successfully finding the back of the net three times in the first half. The Lady Trojans managed to slip one goal through, but Montgomery County remained in firm control, carrying a comfortable 3-1 advantage into the halftime break.
Returning to the field for the second half, the Lady Eagles locked things down. The MCHS defense pitched a secondhalf shutout, denying Johnson County any chance at a comeback. Meanwhile, the Montgomery County offense added one final insurance goal to cement the 4-1 win.
Looking ahead, it is a busy week for Montgomery County soccer. Both the boys' and girls' squads hosted Georgia Military College on Tuesday in matchups that concluded after presstime. MCHS will be back in action on their home turf this Thursday, welcoming the Bryan County Redskins to town with kickoff scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
