MCHS Eagles Soccer Falls To Washington-Wilkes

The Montgomery County High School Eagles soccer teams faced a tough road test last Tuesday, traveling to take on the Washington-Wilkes Tigers. Both the girls' and boys' squads came up short, dropping their respective matches.

Girls vs. Washington

The girls' matchup proved to be a closely contested battle. The Lady Tigers secured the early momentum, taking a 1-0 lead in the first half. Both teams found offensive success in the second half, each netting one goal. Despite the late push, the Lady Eagles could not overcome the early deficit, resulting in a 2-1 victory for Washington.

Boys vs. Washington

In the boys' contest, the Tigers jumped out to a quick start with two first-half goals. The Eagles offense found its rhythm in the second half, with Anthony Bently and Abisael Mezquitila each scoring a goal, and Abe Garcia adding an assist. However, Washington's offense proved too much, adding five more goals in the second half to cruise to a 7-2 win over MCHS.

The Lady Eagles will look to bounce back later this week as they hit the road again. They travel to take on Johnson County this Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
