Qualifying will be held from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Monday, March 2, through Thursday, March 5, and from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Friday, March 6, at the Toombs County Board of Elections and Registration office within the Toombs County Courthouse, located at 100 Courthouse Square in Lyons. In Treutlen County, voters will also cast their ballots for representatives on the County Board of Commissioners and Board of Education. Two seats are up for election on the Board of Commissioners, and will cost $144.00 per candidate: the District 2 seat – currently represented by Phil Jennings – and District 5 – currently represented by Thalia Gillis. Three Board of Education seats are up for election and will cost $138.00 per candidate; these seats are currently represented by District 2 Board Member Buddy Hester, District 3 Board Member Alvin Heath, and District 5 Board Member Demetria Noble.
Candidates may qualify for the election in the Treutlen County Board of Elections Office within the Treutlen County Annex, located at 650 Second Street in Soperton. Qualifying is open from 8 a.m. on Monday, March 2, until 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 5, and 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Friday, March 6.
