Bre w t o n – Pa r k e r Christian University Lady Barons came up just short in a late comeback bid on February 3, 2026, falling 69-66 to Blue Mountain Christian University Toppers in Mount Vernon after a tightly contested finish decided at the free-throw line.

The Lady Barons trailed for most of the second half but stayed within striking distance behind a dominant effort from forward Chasity Degale, who finished with a game-high 23 points and 13 rebounds. Blue Mountain’s McKenzie Williams knocked down a free throw with 26 seconds remaining to make it 69-65, and Brewton- Parker’s final push yielded just one free throw in the closing seconds to set the final margin at three.

Brewton-Parker continued to attack the paint and the glass, using physical interior play and second- chance opportunities to stay close, but Blue Mountain’s efficiency from the field kept the Barons chasing.

The Lady Barons’ defense and rebounding fueled a fourth-quarter surge. Brewton-Parker outrebounded Blue Mountain 38-25 overall, including 14 offensive boards, and forced 20 turnovers while collecting nine steals, but the Lady Barons were unable to steal the lead from the Toppers.

Degale led the charge offensively for Brewton-Parker, attacking the rim and drawing contact to go 11-for-14 at the freethrow line while adding two assists. The Lady Barons also shared contributions on the glass, using their size and effort to generate extra possessions and limit second chances for the Toppers.

Head Coach Steve Edwards reflected on the team's performance, saying, 'Our fight was better today, but we didn't do enough to win. We had every opportunity to win tonight, but we couldn't get it done. A really good Faulkner team is rolling in here on Thursday. Our job is to be prepared to compete.' vs. Faulkner

The Brewton-Parker Christian University Lady Barons hosted the Faulkner University Eagles on February 5, 2026. In a closely contested conference matchup, the Lady Barons stunned the Eagles with a fourthquarter comeback with under 5 minutes left. The Lady Barons forced overtime and won the game 72-70 to get back in the win column.

Jasmine Lenyard finished with a team-high 27 points and five rebounds, going 9-for-21 from the field and 5-for-10 at the line. Her final trip to the stripe came after Faulkner’s Sydney Steward drilled a 3-pointer with nine seconds remaining in overtime to trim the Brewton-Parker lead to 71-70. The Barons got the ball in quickly, drew a foul, and Leynard converted one of two free throws to restore a twopoint cushion that held at the horn.

The game was competitive from the outset. Faulkner opened with a 16-12 edge after the first quarter behind perimeter shooting, including a late 3-pointer from Addison Cantrell. Brewton-Parker answered in the second quarter, outscoring the Eagles 19-10 to take a 3126 halftime lead, highlighted by a Lenyard 3-pointer at the 1:44 mark. Faulkner regrouped in the third, using back-to-back baskets and a 3-pointer from Connell to move in front 40-38, setting the stage for a tightly contested finish.

Brewton-Parker offset Faulkner’s outside shooting with balanced contributions and timely plays on both ends. Sydney Beasley scored 14 points and knocked down three 3-pointers, while Andrian Stewart controlled the glass with a game-high 18 rebounds to go along with seven points and two blocks.

Head Coach Steve Edwards reflected on the team's performance, saying. 'Proud of the way we fought today. Faulkner is one of the hottest teams in our league. They are a really good team. We've had some bad bounces most of the season, but we still believe in this group. Tonight shows why.' vs. Mobile

The Brewton-Parker Christian University Lady Barons built a double- digit lead in the first quarter but could not withstand a dominant third-quarter surge from Mobile, falling 80-75 on Saturday afternoon in Mount Vernon.

The Barons controlled the opening 10 minutes, using a balanced attack to race out to a 2413 advantage after the first quarter. Brewton-Parker’s defense held Mobile to 13 points in the frame, and a jumper by Jakayla Peeples at the buzzer capped the strong start and gave the Barons their largest lead of the game. Brewton-Parker carried a 34-26 edge into halftime after limiting Mobile to just 13 points again in the second quarter.

The game turned after the break as Mobile’s offense caught fire in the third quarter. The visitors outscored the Barons 31-18 in the period, erasing the eight-point halftime deficit and flipping the momentum. The Lady Barons continued to battle in the fourth quarter but could not fully recover.

Head Coach Steve Edwards reflected on the performance, saying. “Anytime we need to be tough, we struggle to meet that challenge. Mobile was much tougher, and that's the reason they won today.”

The Lady Barons will look to bounce back on the road this week as they prepare to take on Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College on February 12, in Tifton, Ga. The Lady Barons will look to use their final 3 games of the season to build momentum going into the playoffs.
