Gardens of Hope Recovery Community Organization (RCO) will host another fundraising gala next month to raise funds for more youth recovery and prevention programs.
Gardens of Hope is an addiction recovery support center located at 145 SW Broad Street in Lyons. The organization serves as a nonclinical resource hub to connect individuals struggling with substance use disorder and their families to necessary facilities and services. Some of the resources available through Gardens of Hope RCO are daily recovery meetings in the morning and afternoons, financial classes, peer support meetings, recovery check-ins, and more.
Youth education, prevention, and recovery is one area that the organization has focused on growing and expanding their reach, as the group understands that adolescents are exposed to several substances prior to even graduating from high school. Currently, Gardens of Hope RCO has two certified youth peer specialists – Jada Braddock and Jacob Brannon – who currently go into school systems and speak with at-risk teenagers in hopes of helping them avoid the dangerous path of substance use disorder. Yet, the organization desires to continue to expand its work with youth in the area. In order to raise funds to continue to expand these programs, Gardens of Hope RCO is hosting a gala, featuring a silent auction for numerous items donated by local businesses, a catered meal, and live music. This event will kick off at 6 p.m. at the Dahlia Event Center, located at 200 SW Main Street in Vidalia, on Friday, February 20. Tickets are $75 each, or a VIP Table can be purchased for $300. Each table seats 8 people. All proceeds will go to the Gardens of Hope RCO Youth Services.
