Indians Finish 4th at Area 2-1A Duals
The Vidalia High School wrestling team battled through a day of tough competition to finish fourth at the Area 2-1A Duals.
The Indians opened the day with a heartbreaker, falling just short to East Laurens, 36-35. The team responded to the early adversity by rolling past Dodge County (48-29) and Montgomery County (40-33). Vidalia finished the day fighting to the end against Fitzgerald, but ultimately fell 48-35.
Head Coach Steve Fullam praised the team's resilience throughout the tournament, “This group showed a lot of heart today. We competed in every match, fought through adversity, and never backed down,' Fullam said. 'That’s the kind of toughness that carries over into the traditional season.”
With the duals schedule now complete, the Indians will turn their focus to the upcoming traditional season.
